This is for the very talented *Spectrolite. She's an AMAZING artist, and I've been watching her for a while, now. I must admit, I'm very envious of her ability to draw just about anything: from realistic animals, to fantasy, and back to a more anime-like style. What drew me to her gallery to begin with, was this adorable little guy.
Not only did I think it was fearfully cute, it reminded me of a character I'd slapped into a bit o' fanfiction years ago. Since I saw him, I'd wanted to draw this guy. When I made my last poll (about gift-art), she answered saying she'd only ever gotten gifts from family. What?! I was so shocked! Her art's so beautiful, and she has such a cute character to draw. I never, in a million years, expected that answer from her. So, today, in my zombie-like state of tiredness, decided to give this little sweetheart a go.
The first time I drew him, I botched up the wings really bad. The left wing was good, but the right was TWICE as thick. -_- So I used a lightbox to trade it again, and I redid that wing. It still doesn't look good, but I tried 10 different ways of drawing it, and couldn't get it to look right. Dangit.
Mogget is pretending to fly like Superman. He's comin' to the rescue! Sorry if the anatomy is off (besides the wings, that is). Cat-like animals aren't my forte.
I used: Prismacolor markers in the following colors- Pink, Magenta, Emerald, Canary Yellow, Peacock Blue, Copenhagen Blue, Crimson Red, Pale Vermillion, and a colorless blender.
Also: Prismacolor Verithin "Cool Grey 70%", which you can't really see in the scan. (Shading)
Aaaah! That little guy is so adorable!!! The wings look fin, actually. Anyway, this little guy looks like a cross between a parrot and a kitten... But darn it if it doesn't look good! He's so cute! You did his face so adorable!! Ah! *Squishes it* The anatomy is pretty good, too... The back legs look neat. Ha ha ha!
There's just something about rainbow wings...isn't there....LIke they represent something......I think that maybe it is the epitomy of freedom (wings) for an artist (rainbow)....make sense??? it's very cute. good job.
